Journey Through Deployment: Update on Coping With This Deployment

I started the Journey Through Deployment series when I began this blog. I wanted Army spouses as well as other branch spouses to actually be able to connect with me via video and see someone in their shoes going through deployment.
I documented via video (vlogumented) everything from him packing, our last breakfast date and of course the day he left.

The other night I decided to update you on life so far as we enter our 6th month into this deployment. Feel free to share your updates in the comments.

  1. I totally know what you mean about the months going by fast but the days not so much. That was how our last deployment was.

I hope time goes by fast for you *hugs*

  3. Dear Krystel, Congrats on making it so far! YAY! That is so exciting! You know so much resonated here and I just wanted to give you a hug!

I think you are so strong and can also feel how much it helps to connect with others throughout the journey. It is such a gift for you to share this here and is so much appreciated!

I am just now trying to share more of the emotional aspects of the journey hubby and I went through (behind the scenes in a book) and I am realizing just how hard it is. It is like so much was suppressed and you know you have to be strong as a mil spouse and so there is this loneliness but also a sense of missing the beautiful sappy surface emotions when our guys return to us.

I would be interested in having you as a guest blogger over at LoveCompanion if you want to talk about the series: Journey through Deployment in a blog post with a few topics that resonates well with you. Let me know if you want to sometime this spring and I would love to introduce you over there. I am currently doing 10 workshops and then after that maybe I will start up guestposts sometime ;)I would be honored to have you there.

It was great to stop in here today! hugs, Jenn

  4. What a great video!

I can also completely identify with how sometimes things seem to drag and then you turn around and how is it 6 months' already?

I'd love you to come by and share this post on the Military Mondays Carnival (March 15 edition) on ArmyWivesLives.com -- I think it will help a lot of new spouses and other currently going through deployment!
